Directions
In the heart of the Mt. Hood Recreation Area. An hour or so from Portland and Portland International Airport. An hour or so from the scenic Columbia River Gorge. 3 Hours from Oregon's Northern Coast.
From West (Portland): I-84 E to Exit 16 (238th Drive, Wood Village, Mt. Hood). At top of ramp, turn right onto 238th Drive, south. Continue approximately 2.8 miles to Burnside Street. (Note: drive in left or center lane; U-Haul rental on the left).
Left onto Burnside Street which segues into Highway 26 E. Continue
east approximately 9.5 miles through Sandy, then 12.5 miles into
left-lane for Brightwood turnoff onto Brightwood Loop Road.
Approximately 1/4 mile, turn left at Y-intersection driving between
the tavern and convenience store onto Brightwood Bridge Road. Follow
approximately 1/4 mile across the Sandy River to T-intersection,
right onto East Barlow Trail Road. Note: Check odometer, exactly
9/10th mile to Brightwood Guest House, on the left. Look for our
sign under the cedar trees.
From North (Washington State & Portland International Airport): I-205 S to I-84 E. (The Dalles, Mt. Hood exit) to Exit 16 (238th Drive, Wood Village, Mt. Hood). From South (Salem): I-5 N to I-205 N (Oregon City, Airport, Seattle exit). Continue to Exit 12, Highway 212 E (Mt. Hood, Estacada). Continue on Hwy 212 through Damascus and Boring 8 miles to junction with Highway 26 E (Sandy, Mt. Hood), turning right before overpass. East on Highway 26 approximately 3 miles through Sandy, then 12.5 miles into left exit lane for Brightwood turnoff onto Brightwood Loop Road.
Approximately 1/4 mile, turn left at Y-intersection driving between
the tavern and convenience store onto Brightwood Bridge Road. Follow
approximately 1/4 mile across the Sandy River to T-intersection,

From East (Hood River): Follow signs to Oregon Highway 35 S, then proceed approximately 45 minutes or so to Highway 26 W and continue west over the shoulder of Mt. Hood.
Continue on Highway 26 W through the communities of Government Camp,
Rhododendron, Zigzag, and Welches. About 1/2 mile after the stoplight
at the Thriftway, turn right at the first Brightwood exit, onto Brightwood
Loop Road.
Travel approximately 2 miles; turn right, driving between the tavern
and convenience store onto Brightwood Bridge Road. Follow approximately
1/4 mile across the Sandy River to T-intersection, right onto East
Barlow Trail Road. Note: Check odometer, exactly 9/10th mile to Brightwood
Guest House, on the left. Look for our sign under the cedar trees.
From East (Bend): Follow Highway 97 N to Madras, onto Highway 26 W and continue west over the shoulder of Mt. Hood.
Continue on Highway 26 W through the communities of Government Camp,
